Horses are said to have done more to change human history than any other domestic animal. Indeed, from explorers of new frontiers to mighty armies and conquests, horses have been the consistent factor in aiding mankind throughout time. Aside from their importance in history, an appreciation of their beauty, grace and spirit is a worthy journey to embark upon. With galloping grace, elegance in their gait of perfect pace and natural beauty with their flowing manes, horses have become an iconic and esteemed animal, for certain.
Perhaps our thoughts drift off to the English countryside where images of Polo matches in which graceful horses ride high in proper style. When I recall seeing my first Polo match years ago, I was in sheer awe at the strength and beauty of the animal that so effortlessly glided before me. Grace and beauty, indeed. Living in the countryside outside of Chicago, I have the pleasure of seeing these beautiful breeds in the open air of the blue skies. It is thrilling to see their beauty and movement.
