The majestic color of purple. Although the dramatic and potent color is a bold choice for the exterior door, the appreciation of its richness in deep hues, brilliant delight of violet hues or the toned down shades of the lavender hue is worthy of our focus. Of course, among the variations of this striking hue are “Aubergine” (French, referencing the dark color hue of an eggplant) or “Cabernet” (A dark, rich color that verges on red yet holds a purple hued cast) . Deep variations of the regal and rich hue of purple.
The color purple is associated with wisdom, wealth, nobility, royalty, luxury and power. The mixture of calming blue and energetic red certainly goes far in stimulating our senses. Said to have been the favored color of Cleopatra (who knew?), the color hue of purple deserves our focus. That said, the focal point of a home is the front door: front and center in drawing our eyes. With the daring addition of purple hued layers of paint a unique energy is relayed. A color that is historically and internationally heralded with royal attributions, consider with appreciation the exterior entrance to the interior world coated with a layer of sophisticated and striking deep purple hues…

And of course…the softer side of purple…lavender bliss….

From vibrant purple to deep, dark eggplant or cabernet to the pale hues of lilac, consider the beauty of purple hues layered upon the exterior front door. A regal and dramatic and beautiful hue, indeed…

MY FAVORITE POST…SO FAR!
Delighted that this post marks your favorite! Of course, it is one that is “layered” in coats of paint….

Kristin, I’ve never, ever spotted a purple door in all my wanderings. Never even thought that purple would be considered a choice. These photos certainly changed my opinion. LOVE the color, and especially love the purple with a framework of gray stone or wood. Fabulous! You made me feel like spring today 🙂
Thank you so much, Stacy! I’m thrilled at having provided a compilation of images that have changed your opinion of the color purple! As with anything, it is the impact of how it is presented to gain an elegance of bold hue. Delighted you are “spring inspired”, too!
