Chicago in November. Falling snowflakes coated the thin layer of snow that covered the ground near the train tracks that I would embark upon to the great city of Chicago. From the train window I watched the mesmerizing snow as it dropped from the sky like a snow globe. Alas, a cold Wintry Chicago journey was ahead. Regardless of weather, my personal commitment to a monthly solo journey to the city of Chicago prevails. Committed for nearly two years to find inspiration and renewal by the energy of life that a city provides. From behind my camera lens, my excitement is always high. Chicago always delivers.

On a sunless afternoon, the windows beckoned me with their brilliant colors and lights. Fashion’s changing scenery. The onset of the holiday’s certainly paired well with the Wintry scene that surrounded. Of note, the layers of warmth that had adorned the mannequins on months past, showcased behind the thick panes of fashion’s windows, were now layering the mass of fashionable city shoppers that filled the streets.

To walk the city streets of Chicago in November is to expect what any city offers from fashion merchandising: Holiday glitz and glamour. The festivities that await us at the onset of the holiday’s spills over from the windows of fashion. Frills of celebration, shimmering embellishments with dazzling and sequined party attire boldly remind us that the events of the holidays are drawing near. Tuxedos and bow ties seemed to be a recurring theme. Of course. Alas, who does not desire a new garment of stunning and festive appeal? The magic of celebratory dressing returns. “Putting on the Ritz” is upon us…

Consider with appreciation the scenery that surrounds from behind fashion’s windows. As always, my plea is to simply pay attention to what surrounds. Even the city scene reflected on the windows of fashion is inspiring. Awareness. As we draw near to the end of the year, the awareness of the moment and what surrounds us requires giving our full attention to the moment. Simply pause and pay attention to what you pass by. For me? Another moment in Chicago from which I relished the city scenery of fashionable windows from behind the lens. Photographing the snapshot in my mind and bringing that visual to fruition to share. Life is full of edits. Even through the lens and through my compilations. The result are fashionable inspirations to hopefully inspire. Fashionable Windows of Chicago in November, indeed…
