Halloween Salutations: Fog & Barren Delights Of Nature

Fog Through The Barren Trees....
Fog Through The Barren Trees….

“Suddenly the day was gone, night came out from under each tree and spread.”
― Ray Bradbury, The Halloween Tree

Halloween. So it is the time of year when the leaves have fallen from the stately trees that stand amidst the forest surrounds. Barren among our surrounds. Perhaps, as Halloween arrives, these trees take on an eerie appeal with their weathered an scraggly branches that seem to reach out toward those below that set their eyes upon them. Barren and stripped of their leaves, the shadows that interplay upon them seem to dance on the impactful branches of eerie delight. Fog that settles in seems to pique our curiosity to wander into the midst of the towering barren branches that surround us…

And of the fog? Captured from behind my lens? Termed as a complex atmospheric phenomenon, fog is a visible mass consisting of cloud water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the air at or near the Earth’s surface”. Considered a type of low-lying cloud, fog is heavily influenced by nearby bodies of water, topography and wind conditions. Low lying delight. Oh, the settling of a fog within our surrounds in the Autumnal season! Thick with beauty…and mystery, indeed…

“I admire the fog, how it fades into itself”
-Marty Rubin

“Truth is the torch that gleams through the fog without dispelling it”
-Claude Adrien Helvetius

“I look into a foggy future and the only thing I can see clearly is you, standing by my side”
-Unknown

Nature that surrounds offers us delights throughout the year…even when stripped of its glory. There is beauty in what surrounds. To capture images of unexpected natural and seasonal appeal, at Halloween, indeed. Nature’s Halloween Salutations to you…

Onward,

Kristin
