Chicago in March.  One never knows what weather may roll in off Lake Michigan upon the city of Chicago in March. March winds are a guarantee in this city known for its wind.  The “Windy City”, indeed.  On this particular day, the sun shone brightly  but the breeze offered the brisk reminder that the warmth of Spring was still pending.  Alas, onward, under the blue skies that the skyscrapers reach towards.   The city streets and the fashionable world that lined them awaited, from behind my lens…

On yet another monthly solo journey by metra train to this great city, I arrived with sheer excitement at what my lens might find.  Inspiration is a constant.  Once again, in a city that is always changing and changing seasons that await, the windows of fashion certainly offered visual change.  Warm weather appeal and colorful hues behind the panes of fashion’s windows was certainly evident. Hues of vibrant delight or neutral and classic elements of fashion were all present. Whimsy included. Fashionable delight was a mere click away, yet again.  Camera ready and onward….

Consider the fashionable windows that surround. Merchandising at its best. The windows of fashion have and will continue to be a focus from behind my lens. That is a constant. For certain, the art of fashion is a worthy perspective to capture. Appreciation. Changing form and changing fashion is a constant. Ever changing, as life itself. Fashion marches on and with intent I will continue to aspire to capture the essence of its change. Season after season.  Spring awaits in the wings.  Yet inspiration is always present regardless.  Inspiration found from behind the lens of the fashionable windows of Chicago in March, indeed….

Onward,

Kristin

PS:  A word about reflections…  To me, the reflections off the windows of fashion are part of the appeal.  The city that the windows reside within and the activity that is a part of the mere moment, captured from behind the lens.  Part of the draw, to me.  Clearly, I appreciate reflections from behind the lens….
